This policy explains what information Miss Melanie's Music Studio ("we," "us," or "the studio") collects through our scheduling app, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep this simple: we collect only what we need to run lessons and stay in touch with enrolled families, and we never sell your information.

Information we collect

Account and contact details you or your teacher provide: your name, your child's name, your email address, and, if you choose to receive texts, your mobile number.
Lesson and scheduling data: lesson times, swaps, makeup requests, waitlist entries, and related notes needed to manage the studio schedule.
Your communication choices: whether you have agreed to receive email and text messages, stored separately so you can change one without the other.

How we use it

To schedule and manage your child's lessons.
To send you studio communications you have opted into (see below).
To operate, secure, and support the app.

Text messaging (SMS)

If you opt in, we send text messages about time-sensitive scheduling: lesson swap requests, waitlist and makeup offers, and confirmations. Message frequency varies (typically a few times a month). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts, or HELP for help.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your text-messaging opt-in information with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Your consent to text messaging is used only to send you the studio messages described here.

Email

If you opt in, we email you about upcoming lessons, schedule changes, recital announcements, and reminders. Every announcement email lets you opt out, and you can change your email preference at any time.

How your information is stored and shared

Your data is stored securely with our service providers (our database and email and text delivery providers) solely to run the studio app. We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with those providers as needed to deliver the service, or if required by law.

Children

The studio teaches minors. Accounts are held and managed by a parent or guardian, who provides consent on the child's behalf. We collect only the lesson information needed to teach and schedule.

Your choices

Opt out of texts anytime by replying STOP or updating your settings.
Opt out of announcement emails anytime.
Ask your teacher to correct or remove your information.

Changes

We may update this policy; the effective date above will change when we do.
